Phoenix Cinema

The Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley has a long and historied past- going back over 100 years!

Starting it’s life as the East Finchley Picturedrome, the building works started in 1910 and were completed in 1912; It is now one of the UK’s oldest continuously-running cinemas. After successive name and management changes, in 1975 the cinema was renamed The Phoenix Cinema, along with a shift of focus to bring contemporary, independent, foreign and art-house films to the community.

Now being operated by a charity trust, the Phoenix Cinema is dedicated to providing the local community with educational and community activities, such as film studies, Toddler and children activities, workshops and charity screenings.

The Phoenix Cinema is now supporting the Capital Card Scheme by providing Users the opportunity to see new releases and a variety of films from different genres.
